Understand the handoff
A live transfer connects a prospect to your team during an active call. A list-based lead arrives as a record that your team must contact later. Ask how the transfer is introduced, which qualifications have been checked, and whether the business expects to speak with your organization.
Match the order to staffing
Transfers need available, trained staff during agreed delivery hours. Missed calls can waste both budget and the prospect's time. Lists allow more flexible assignment, but still need a realistic follow-up plan. Define handling rules for out-of-hours delivery, duplicate records, and applicants outside your criteria.
Compare the same outcome
Cost per transfer and cost per record are not directly comparable. Track accepted contacts, qualified conversations, complete applications, funded accounts, and staff time. Ask about short-call rules, billing disputes, and replacements in writing. A live conversation does not itself guarantee an eligible or interested applicant.
Keep outreach controls intact
Neither delivery format removes your responsibility to follow applicable contact and privacy requirements. Ask for source and permission information, respect opt-outs, and avoid treating a transfer as permission for unrelated future campaigns. Run a limited pilot before committing to a larger schedule.
